What if your child's flag football game could one day be on ESPN? This July, that's exactly what's happening — and it's a bigger deal for youth sports than it might seem.
The 2026 NFL FLAG Championships presented by Toyota take place July 23–26 at Grand Park Sports Campus in Westfield, Indiana — and for the first time at this scale, the action will be broadcast live across ESPN, ESPN2, ABC, ESPN Deportes, NFL+, Disney+, Disney Channel, and Disney XD. Championship games kick off Friday, July 24, with the finals on Sunday, July 26.
Visibility changes everything in youth sports. When young athletes see kids who look like them competing on mainstream television, it normalizes the dream. It tells a 9-year-old pulling on their flag belt on a Saturday morning that their sport belongs on the same screen as the NBA, the NFL, and the Olympics.
This year's event is the largest yet: more than 350 girls and boys teams representing communities from across the U.S. and abroad — including teams from Mexico, Brazil, Spain, and Canada. It's a genuine world stage, now broadcasting into millions of American living rooms.
▸ Live ESPN and ABC coverage of championship games — a first for the event at this scale
▸ Streaming on Disney+, Disney Channel, and Disney XD brings youth flag football to younger audiences than ever before
▸ International teams from at least four countries, reflecting flag football's rapid global growth
▸ The Indianapolis Colts have committed $1 million to support girls high school flag football in Indiana, making the host state a model for youth development nationwide
For local league organizers and coaches, the ESPN broadcast is a recruitment tool you didn't have to build yourself. Share the schedule with your families. Organize a team watch party. Let kids see what their sport looks like at its highest level — and then remind them that every team at Grand Park started exactly where your players are right now.
The path from a Saturday morning community league to the national championship stage is real, and more accessible than most families realize. Use the Flag Football Finder league search to discover programs near you, or browse our tournament listings to find competitive events happening this summer.
Starting Friday, July 24, the 2026 NFL FLAG Championships will air on ESPN, ESPN2, ABC, ESPN Deportes, and NFL+, with select games also available on Disney+, Disney Channel, Disney XD, the ESPN App, and ESPN on YouTube. Championship games air Sunday, July 26.
Set a reminder, gather your team, and tune in — because this is your sport's moment. And if you're not in a league yet, there's no better time to start. Find a league near you and make sure your athlete has a front-row seat to the future of flag football.
