What Happened in Westfield
More than 350 teams and roughly 4,500 athletes descended on Grand Park Sports Campus in Westfield, Indiana, July 23–26 for the largest NFL FLAG Championships to date, the first held in an NFL club market. The finals were broadcast across ESPN, ABC and Disney+.
In the Girls' High School final, the L.A. Seahawks needed overtime to beat the defending champion Austin Texans. Quarterback Ava Ortman found receiver Mya Smith in the end zone for the walk-off score, capping a back-and-forth classic that swung several times in the fourth quarter.
In the Boys' U14 final, the Ocala Bucs ran away from the New York City Ravens behind tournament MVP Drake Eason, who threw touchdowns to Kingstyn Henderson and Duke Simpkins while the Bucs' defense sealed things with two pick-sixes. On the international side, Mexico claimed the U15 Girls' title and Canada won U15 Co-Ed — proof of how global the sport has become.
