Coed 9U is where positions start to mean something. Athletes ages 9 and under (typically 3rd–4th grade) begin finding their roles — quarterback, receiver, rusher, defender — and the playbook expands to match. Coaches build game IQ alongside athleticism: reading the field, timing routes, playing team defense instead of chasing the ball.

The tournament schedule steps up too. Cajun Heat 9U competes against travel programs from across Louisiana and the region, and the roster is tryout-selected, so every athlete on the field earned the spot. It's competitive youth flag football with development at the center — and the standard that defines every Cajun Heat team.
