Founded by Dr. Jacob Groshek in 2017, what started as a small Turkey Bowl in Newton has grown into the official NFL FLAG program for the greater Boston region, serving thousands of players and their families every season.

Dr. Groshek’s, better known as ‘Dr. Flag,’ path to running one of the most respected flag football programs in the Northeast is anything but typical. He holds a PhD in communication from Indiana University, earned tenure at Boston University, and has lived abroad - but it was a gap in his own community that sparked everything. The program also runs a dedicated girls-only league through its Patriot Girls NFL FLAG division and offers adult leagues as well.
